Debt Recovery

If your electric meter has a submeter for heat or water, they will be billed on either a weekly or monthly basis and added to your account as a debt. Your landlord or agent will set up a debt recovery tariff on your account to pay this bill. Therefore, every top up you make to your meter, an additional percentage of that amount will also be taken to pay off the debt.

For example, if your debt recovery were set to 25% and you added £10 to your meter, an additional £2.50 would be taken and used to pay the water/heat bill.

You can view this yourself when you login to your MeterPay account and go to My Accounts > My Bills.
